Wound and Complex Wound Management

Diligent Care Services team of registered nurses use best practice, up-to-date techniques to assess and treat wounds. Wounds are assessed and treated as well as pressure sores resulting from laying, sitting or from the frequent use of mobility equipment. Our goal is to provide care to help wounds heal successfully, eliminate discomfort and to help you improve and maintain quality of life.

Diligent Care Services experienced professionals develop, deliver, and monitor complex wound care plan and pressure care. Our staff are trained in identifying skin integrity risk and wound care. Skin integrity is care and management of wounds and the prevention of pressure injuries (previously known as bed sores or pressure ulcers). Wounds and pressure injuries are graded leading to appropriate decisions making on wound and complex care. When the integrity of your skin is compromised it leaves you vulnerable to infections.

Diligent Care Services nurses can:

  • Work with you to undertake wound assessments to create wound care plans and recommend the best care specific to each wound type and pressure injuries
  • Undertake the direct treatment of complex wounds and pressure sores/ulcers injuries
  • Cary out management of skin reactions to stoma appliances
  • Dressing and management of wounds and bedsores following surgery
  • Treatment of skin conditions from prolonged exposure to moisture, urine and faeces or acidic effluent which generally occur due to incontinence, Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tubes and other drains and stomas
  • Provide skin integrity assessment
  • Training of Support Workers and carers in simple wound care and identification and prevention of pressure sores injuries
